Foreword

One of the coolest ideas I've ever had came to me in 2001 while The Lone Gunmen series was airing. The idea had absolutely nothing to do with anything about The Lone Gunmen, but sprung into mind one day as I was haunting their unique website full of cute little gizmos, one being the screensaver playing on Langly's computer. Everything was Matrix-green back then, including that screensaver running on that tiny little screen on the TV show webpage, basically a fake virtual screen beside two other fake virtual screens (laptop and computer belonging to two other characters inside a webpage block inside another real screen, which was my own computer). The simulated screensaver on Langly's cartoon computer looked like a real screensaver, pixelated and animated, but different from all the screensavers I'd see up to that point. His screensaver was simulating an end-game video game GAME OVER scenario, with tiny little pirate skeletons blowing around and falling like they'd been in an explosion, very apocalyptic looking in it's tiny little green-on-black pixelated way.

The entire idea for Flat Time, or whatever I'm going to wind up calling this, came solely from that tiny little pixelated simulation of a screensaver on a cartoon computer belonging to a character on an information website for TV show.

This is a very difficult idea to convey, so I never wrote it down until now. Originally the idea was that eddies of time could exist independently of overall time as we experience it together on our planet, and that these time fragments could infect and reorder time around them as they were spread by an unknown source. I could see in my mind how this would all look played out and filmed for a TV show, and even that many years ago I had some idea how this premise of time eddy fragments could work with what we know of physics and time.

The only way I could explain it to myself for awhile was it's like whipping egg whites into a meringue. The whites are 'broken' into strings that can be spun out into very long strings that hold a shape. It involved some sort of vortex that didn't necessarily have to be seen or felt. Pockets of time could develop into stable loops that could be witnessed, without the people within the loops being cognizant of them, but the people outside the loops able to witness them.

Over time I was able to develop details in my mind that seemed to hold some integrity, even if I couldn't explain it scientifically. Today, 11-27-20, I have read of the sort of science that could support a story like this within the pages of David Wilcock's Source Field Investigations

So the premise is that time is a big coherent thing to us on this planet because there is one overarching 'machine' causing it, and that is our sun energy coupled with our rotational orbit around the sun. If a local causality of some kind could overcome the overarching machination, and there is evidence now that local time flow can be slightly increased and decreased by local factors, then time pockets could develop that would be able to consistently hold their shape as a new and separate machinistic vortices.

I can't even say how thrilling it was finally running into a solvable way to explain what I was already able to see in my head many years ago. I am autist, I've been able to see mathy things in my head all my life but have no way of expressing them until I find others describing workings that match what I'm able to see in my head.

And since I finally got some confirmation that this is doable, I'm less reluctant to plunge into creating this fiction. Let's see what happens.
